Family astrology for everyday life.

Understand each other.
Feel closer as a family.

You love your family. Understanding each other can take a little help.

I’m Erika Merriweather, The Family Astrologer. I use astrology to help parents, couples, and families explore what each person needs, how they communicate, and where they can find more connection.

Whether you know your whole birth chart or just your zodiac sign, you’re welcome here.

Erika Merriweather, The Family Astrologer
“Every family is made up of different people with different needs. I help you understand those differences—and find ways to connect.”
The people closest to us

Same family.
Different ways of seeing the world.

One child wants to talk everything through. Another needs time alone. You reach for a hug; your partner reaches for a solution.

These differences can be confusing, especially when everyone is trying their best.

Family astrology offers another perspective on the people you love. By exploring individual birth charts and the connections between them, we can put words to needs, habits, and patterns that may be hard to explain.

You don’t need to become an astrology expert. My job is to make it understandable—and connect it to your life.

What is family astrology?

Most people meet astrology through their zodiac sign. A birth chart goes further.

It’s a map of the sky at the time and place you were born. In astrology, that map is used to explore themes such as emotions, communication, motivation, and relationships.

Family astrology brings those individual charts into the same conversation. We look at each person, then explore how you relate to one another—as parents and children, partners, siblings, or members of a blended family.

The starting point is always your real experience. We use the charts to open up questions, make room for different perspectives, and help you understand one another more fully.

For the family life you’re actually living

Understand what’s hard.
Discover what’s possible.

Families come to this work for many reasons. You may be navigating a loss, divorce, life between two households, sibling conflict, or the effects of painful experiences. You may also want to feel closer, understand your child’s gifts, or build on what already makes your family strong.

I use family astrology to explore both: the places where you need support and the qualities you want to nurture.

Why does one child want to talk while another pulls away? What might help you and your co-parent communicate more clearly? How can you support children who are responding differently to the same loss or change?

And just as importantly: What brings out each person’s confidence, creativity, kindness, or courage? How can you encourage those qualities in one another? Where do your differences create possibilities you haven’t yet recognized?

We look at birth charts alongside your lived experience, then connect those conversations to everyday choices. That might mean creating a reassuring routine between households, making space for each child’s feelings, encouraging a new interest, or noticing a partner’s contribution that you’ve come to take for granted.

Astrology can be uplifting because it invites us to look again—to recognize strengths, appreciate differences, and imagine new ways of relating. Understanding someone more fully can help you see more to celebrate and more to build on together.

Astrology doesn’t explain away painful experiences or replace grief support, therapy, or trauma care. It can offer another perspective as you navigate life and care for your relationships.

We start with where you are, what matters to you, and what you hope to grow together.

Bringing family astrology into the everyday conversation.

Erika Merriweather makes astrology understandable for people who are curious about what it can bring to family life.

As The Family Astrologer, she connects astrological ideas to experiences audiences recognize: parenting children with different personalities, navigating a partnership, understanding siblings, and noticing patterns across generations.

Her approach is warm, clear, and grounded in the questions people ask about their own families. Audiences can follow along whether they’re longtime astrology enthusiasts or hearing about birth charts for the first time.

Meet Erika

A lifelong interest in what makes people—and families—tick.

I’m Erika Merriweather, a professional astrologer and children’s book author with a particular interest in the relationships that shape our lives.

Before astrology became the focus of my professional work, I spent more than a decade working closely with children as a nanny and in children’s programming. Those experiences gave me a close view of how differently children express themselves, how families find their rhythm, and how much care goes into everyday parenting.

I also hold a master’s degree in Arts Management. Storytelling and making ideas accessible are central to the way I work.

Today, I bring those experiences together through family astrology. I explore birth charts and relationship patterns, then translate them into conversations people can understand and connect to their own lives.

My aim is to help you leave with a clearer perspective on the people you love—and more curiosity about what makes each of you unique.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know anything about astrology?

No. I explain the terms as we go and connect the reading to your questions. You can come with a little knowledge, a lot, or none at all.

What if I’m curious but skeptical?

You’re welcome. You don’t have to arrive with a particular belief. Bring your questions and your own experience; there’s room to explore what resonates with you.

Is this more than comparing zodiac signs?

Yes. Family readings look at individual birth charts and how they relate to one another. Your zodiac sign is a starting point, rather than the whole picture.

What information do you need?

Birth charts use a birth date, birth time, and birthplace. If you don’t know someone’s birth time, let me know so we can discuss what’s possible with the information you have.

What do you mean by “family”?

Parents and children, couples, co-parents, siblings, blended families, and the people who play a family role in your life. Families take many forms.
